Genesis is Hyundai’s luxury brand. The Genesis name first appeared on a flagship Hyundai sedan beginning with the 2009 model year. After that, it morphed into the South Korean automaker’s luxury division beginning in 2017 with a two-model lineup, the G80 and G90 sedans.

Since then, the brand has become known for high-quality, high-performing, luxury-laden vehicles with rear- or all-wheel drive that offer a lot of value for the money versus the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other luxury luminaries. In addition to the G80 mid-size sedan and G90 full-size sedan, models include the G70 sports sedan.
Starting in 2021, the brand will branch out into SUVs, with the GV80 mid-size SUV, followed by the smaller GV70 SUV.
