WEST CHESTER PA – Piazza Auto Group, which currently operates automobile dealerships in Limerick, Royersford, Reading, and several other locations, was named Thursday (May 5, 2022) as the buyer of the former Mercedes-Benz of West Chester property in West Chester PA. Rich Weitzman, a senior vice president with Colliers International real estate of Philadelphia, arranged the sale.
The auto dealership facility of 120,000 square feet sits on 10 acres at 1260 Wilmington Pike (Route 202), northwest of Dilworthtown Road. Its seller was Capital Automotive of McLean VA, a private real estate investment trust, Colliers said. The price was not disclosed.
Piazza bills itself as “one of the largest auto groups in the Delaware Valley.” Its represented brands include Genesis of Pottstown, located in Royersford; Piazza Honda of Pottstown, Piazza Hyundai of Pottstown, and Piazza Subaru of Limerick, all located in Limerick; Pizza Accura of Reading, Piazza Honda of Reading, and more than 20 others across portions of Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Weitzman, who joined Colliers in 2011, has 23 years of retail real estate brokerage and development experience and specializes in automotive projects. In July 2021 he also represented Piazza in arranging a long-term lease for another West Chester dealership with Tesla Motors in an off-market transaction.
