IIT Delhi introduces new B.Tech programme in engineering and computational mechanics

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has launched a new course – B.Tech in Engineering and Computational Mechanics for the 2020-21 academic session. According to media reports, the students who have cleared the JEE Advanced 2020 exams will be the first batch to study B. Tech in Engineering and Computational Mechanics at the institute.
The course which aims to create awareness among the students with the latest trends in computational techniques and also provides a foundation in the fundamentals of engineering mechanics and will be run by the Department of Applied Mechanics in the institute. The students who opt for a B.Tech course at the institute will be able to analyse complex phenomena relevant to the problems in the industry.
Graduates will be eligible to apply for higher studies
While speaking to the media, Department of Applied Mechanics HOD Professor Sanjeev Sanghi stated that the graduates from this programme are likely to find the best technology jobs in core engineering and will also be eligible for higher studies including Masters and PhD in IIT Delhi and other leading national and international institutions.
He also pointed out that the Design, Analysis and Research Jobs in sectors like Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, Shipping, Biomechanics and Biomedical devised, off-shore structures etc will be opened to students pursuing the programme designed in consultation with the industry.
JEE Advanced 2020 examinations are scheduled to be conducted on September 27, 2020. Students who have applied for the examinations are advised to visit the official website to check the examination instructions and other details related to the examinations. The examinations were postponed from the original date due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in the country since March 2020.
