LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A shortage of Automotive Technicians across the country is hitting right here at home, the Anderson Auto Group is seeing those effects from a lack of Service workers.

The big questions, why is there a shortage and most importantly, why now?

“I think it’s because we are seeing less and less interest from kids starting off at a young age to want to be a Technician” Mike Anderson, the owner of Anderson Auto Group, said.

The limited amount of Technicians has become a problem for the Auto Group saying they are seeing longer wait times for customers needing a fix on their vehicle.

“We are really looking for good people to fill that role, to be able to provide our promise to customers, to have a better experience when they come to a dealership” Anderson said.

Those longer wait times and a goal of customer satisfaction is exactly why so many are looking to hire Automotive Technicians.

“That’s one of the great things about this business, you never know what ticket you’re going to draw that day or what you’re going to end up doing. It keeps everything interesting” Chris Williams, an Auto Technician at Anderson Auto Group, added.
