TrackPass on NBC Gold provides race fans with comprehensive live coverage of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and ARCA Menards Series. Now, thanks to Advance Auto Parts, race fans have a chance to grab a free year to catch their favorite NASCAR Roots action for a limited time.

Fans can catch Saturday’s Musket 200 presented by Whelen from New Hampshire Motor Speedway (12:05 p.m. ET) for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, as well as Saturday’s Royal Truck & Trailer 200 from Toledo Speedway (5 p.m.) for the ARCA Menards Series.

It’s been done five times in NASCAR history, and just twice in the modern era. Fireball Roberts, 1962

Roberts dominated at the 1962 Daytona 500, then was a late charger in the summer victory. Roberts started fourth and led the first lap in July, but he didn’t gain control of the race until the final 20 laps, of which he led all.


Cale Yarborough, 1968

Yarborough was running a part-time slate in 1968, and his two Daytona wins were part of a six-victory 1968 effort in just 21 starts. It was a coming out party of sorts for the eventual Hall of Famer, who entered the season with three career premier series wins.


LeeRoy Yarbrough, 1969

Perhaps the most unlikely driver on this list, Yarbrough had a career year in 1969. He won seven races, good for half his career total in 14 seasons of racing.


Bobby Allison, 1982

1982 was the start of a career renaissance for Bobby Allison. At age 44, he led 147 laps to win the Daytona 500, then followed it up in the summer by leading 112 laps in victory.


Jimmie Johnson, 2013

Jimmie Johnson was just a five-time champion (we kid!) when he swept Daytona in 2013. He held off teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the 500, then won an overtime finish in July by holding off Tony Stewart.
